Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

SeeSi respects your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains what data SeeSi processes when you use the app.

SeeSi does not transmit your private self-reflection content, personal notes, answers, or relationship entries to our servers for storage or analysis as part of app analytics or profiling. This content is stored locally on your device.

To provide account access, app reliability, analytics, and subscription functionality, SeeSi does process limited account, technical, and usage-related data as described below.

2. Data We Process

SeeSi may process the following categories of data:

SeeSi does not process your private notes, self-reflections, questionnaire answers, or relationship records on external servers for analytics or profiling.

3. Information You Enter About Other People

SeeSi lets you create an entry for a person in your life and answer questions about how you feel around them. An entry may include a name or nickname, a photo, a date of birth, and details such as occupation, city, or lifestyle, together with your own answers about that relationship.

This information is about someone who has not installed the app and has not agreed to anything. We treat it accordingly:

You decide what to enter, and you are responsible for the information you record about another person. Please only enter what you need for your own reflection, and consider using a nickname instead of a full name.

When you delete a person, delete your data, or delete your account in the app, that content and the photos you added are removed from your device.

4. Analytics and Crash Diagnostics

Analytics is switched off until you turn it on. The app does not collect analytics by default. You are asked once during onboarding, and you can change your answer at any time in Settings. If you turn analytics off, collection stops.

When analytics is on, it records which screens are opened and which features are used — for example, that a questionnaire was completed. It never includes the content of your answers, the names or photos of people you added, or anything else you typed.

Analytics also records an approximate region, worked out from your IP address, and an identifier for the app installation on this device. The region is a country or city area, never a precise location, and neither is linked to your name or your account.

Crash diagnostics work separately and are always active. If the app crashes, a report is sent so the problem can be fixed. A report describes the failure itself, along with the device model and operating system version. It does not contain your notes, questionnaire answers, or information about people you added.

5. Help Now and Your Location

Help Now shows emergency numbers and support services for the country you are in. You can open it without an account.

Your location. If you allow it, SeeSi uses your approximate location — not your exact position — to work out which country you are in and, for the few cities that have local services, which city. This happens on your device, with map data that is part of the app. Your location is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it is never stored. SeeSi saves only the country and the city it worked out, on your device, so that the right numbers appear the next time.

SeeSi asks for your location only while Help Now is open, or when you tap “Use my location” — never in the background and never when the app starts. Close to a border the app does not guess: it asks which country you are in, and your answer is saved on your device. A country you choose yourself is also saved only on your device.

You can turn location off at any time in iOS Settings. Help Now then uses your device’s region, or a country you choose. When location is not allowed, the country and city SeeSi had worked out are deleted; deleting your account deletes them as well.

Whose embassy. Help Now can show the embassy of a country you name, and you can name more than one. You choose this on the screen itself. SeeSi saves only those country codes, on your device, and sends them nowhere. SeeSi does not ask for your citizenship and does not store it.

Report a problem. If you tell us that a service did not work, SeeSi sends which service it was, the country shown, the reason you chose, any text you typed, the app version and the time. The report does not contain your name, your email address or your account, and it is not linked to you. You need to be signed in to send one.

Other websites. Help Now links to the websites of other organisations, such as helplines, shelters and foreign ministries. Once you open one of them, that organisation’s own privacy policy applies there.

Analytics. If analytics is on, it records which Help Now screens you open, which kind of help you look at (for example, help for a child), whether the service was an emergency number, a national helpline or another organisation, whether you used your location or chose a country, and the country shown. It never records which particular service or number you contacted, and never your city.

6. Notifications

Notifications are off until you turn them on. SeeSi sends only important news about new SeeSi features. You can turn them on when the app offers it once, or in the app under Settings → Notifications, and you can turn them off there or in iOS Settings at any time.

To deliver notifications, SeeSi uses Firebase Cloud Messaging, a service by Google, together with Apple Push Notification service. When you turn notifications on, Firebase receives a technical address of the app on this device (the push token), an identifier of the app installation, and basic device information: device model, language, time zone and operating system version. SeeSi also tells Firebase the language of the app, so that news reaches you in that language. This information is not linked to your name or your account.

Notifications are the same for everyone who turned them on in the same language. They are never based on your answers, the people you added, or anything else you entered, and they never contain such information.

When you turn notifications off in SeeSi or delete your account, the app asks Firebase to delete the push token of this device, and you stop receiving news. If you turn notifications off only in iOS Settings, iOS stops showing them.

7. How We Use Data

We use the limited data described above only to:

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising. We do not use your private in-app content for marketing.

8. Storage and Processing

Your private app content, including notes, reflections, answers, and relationship-related entries, is stored locally on your device.

Limited account, analytics, diagnostic, and subscription-related data may be processed by trusted service providers only to support app functionality.

9. Third-Party Services

SeeSi may use third-party service providers for purposes such as:

These services process only the data necessary to perform their function.

10. Data Control

You remain in control of your data.

Within the app, you may be able to:

Deleting your account removes your locally stored content from your device: the people you added and their photos, and what Help Now had saved — the country, the city, and the countries whose embassies you chose to see. It also turns notifications off for this device.

Deleting the app removes locally stored app content from your device, but it does not automatically delete your account or server-side account access data.

11. Children’s Privacy

SeeSi is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can review and address the issue.

12. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.

Any changes will be published at this location. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
